Helped my girlfriend tag her first buck a couple weeks ago, hunt was tough as most of the unit had burned. She made a great shot, one and done. I am pretty proud of her!

Went out yesterday afternoon and took out my rifles, a Winchester Model 70 in 300 Win, and a sporterized mexican mauser that was my great grandfathers in 7x57mm. I have been working up loads and testing them for the 300 and finally got it dialed. Feels great to have my rifles shooting exactly...

Well, got out to my area and found some nice bucks! I am so excited that I am almost sad I have to wait 2 months to get after them. 2 of the bucks were great and got me a little nervous excited while a planned a fake stalk on how I would have approached them if it had been season... gotta love it!

When your glassing antelope, whats the first thing that you look for in a quality animal. Height, monster prongs, huge mass? Just curious to see what the first thing is that catches your guys' eyes?
