In anticipation of a fall elk hunt I have been looking into a prescription of Diamox for altitude sickness. The more I read about the possible side effects the more I am questioning my decision. If anyone has used Diamox I would be curious if you had any side effects.

Can the members help me with altitude sickness? I was looking at two otc pills but don't know if Meclizine or Dramamine would work or if there is a better choice out there. I did notice that these two were used for motion sickness and my not work for my upcoming elk hunt this fall.

I am planning a Wyoming hunt for next fall and would like some suggestions on purchasing trip insurance.
If the members would be willing to give me the name(s) of a company they would suggest that would be very much appreciated.

Years ago on an elk hunt the group was practicing on how to use the cannister and the wind changed direction and one of the guides standing on the far end of the group got a little spray in the air which put him down on his knees and blinded him for awhile.
Not something to mess with!!
Will be purchasing some bear spray and should I be carrying the spray on my belt or purchasing a chest holder?
Thank in advance on any assistance the group can give me,
Happy Trails,
