Initiative 13 "Shall there be a change to the Colorado Revised Statutes ending any further reintroductions of grey wolves by December 31, 2026".

I am circulating referendum petitions for signatures for this initiative. I decided to do something about this wolf disaster besides talking about it. So far down here in SW Colorado the response has been positive and I have met a lot of people (hunters and nonhunters) who are fed up too. If you...

Colorado's new 6.5% tax on guns, ammo & gun related parts.

Anyone shopped where the new 6.5% tax is applied? Heard some retailers are charging it on hunting equipment (eg. clothing, binos. etc), it's only supposed to be charged for purchase of guns, ammo, and gun parts in my understanding.

Possibility of Solving Chronic Back Issues

I have had some chronic back issues that have gotten worse as I have aged. I have had one surgery (it helped SOME!) and my back Dr says he won't do any more surgeries. He suggested back Ablations, which is electronic burning of the nerve where the pain originates. It is an involved process that...

    Selling of Public Lands.

The Trump administration is studying the idea of liquidating public lands to private investors to fund something called Sovereign Wealth Fund. Trump quietly signed an Executive Order (Secretarial Order #3418 "Unleashing American Energy" ) that orders Sec of the Interior begin a review of all...

Spent the weekend thinking about my 2025 Elk, Deer & Antelope hunting here in Colorado. Pretty much made up my mind what tags I am applying for and where I want to hunt. No Wyoming this year....point for deer and antelope only. How about you?

    Unusual Goose

In the 25 years I have lived in SW Colorado almost all of the geese I see are Canada's and a few Cacklers. I see a few specs and snows, but usually on a cold year when they migrate early thru here. Yesterday I saw a single Ross in with a bunch of Honkers. I know it was a Ross by it's small...

    Weather in SW Colorado

This weekend should be great for deer & elk hunters here in SW Colorado. We have snow now at the higher altitudes and rain at lower elevations. I have heard that the elk are starting to move around more now that the hot weather has left. Those that have first season tags should be prepared for...
