I watched the CNN special about the twin towers disaster last night and it brought back memories I'd like to remember and forget too.

I was watching the morning news drinking a cup of coffee when it happened. At first I thought it was an accident, but then as it developed, I knew it was planned. My hunting buddy and I were scheduled to leave the next morning for an antelope hunt in Wyoming, meeting my Dad and one of his lifelong hunting buddies. They were on their way from California and I found out later that day they didn't know anything about it.

We decided to go hunting despite the questions about what was next. We didn't have cell phones or radios in our trucks that would get anything but am/fm stations. Even tho it was a successful trip, we couldn't get the situation out of our minds. We got 3 buck antelope the first morning and decided to drive 60 miles to Casper where a friend of mine lived to find out if we missed anything call our families. We drove back to camp and got the last buck the next morning and headed for home. It was a successful hunt and I got to see and hunt with my Dad, it was one I'd like to forget.

I think everyone remembers where they were that day. I was in Everett Washington at the wide body Boeing facility for business. I had flown up there to discuss a supply chain application that I built for long Beach from the McDonnell Douglas days. Everyone was glued to the few TVs that were available. Was a tough week to try to focus. They decided to use my application and still use it to this day. Was dicey for the flight home. I got to the airport and had no idea if the government was going to allow flights again. I lucked out with the first flight that left seatac airport.

I had a lot of dealings with Boeing over the years, as a major subcontractor for our programs and a major subcontractor for theirs. Worked with a lot of people from McDonald Douglas when they came to work for us.

I was driving to work and heard it on the radio. When I got to work everyone was glued to the radio. Not much got done that day.
