Lightning Fires

Here at in the 4 Corners area of sw Colorado we have at least 3 lightning fires going. The wind has been blowing like hell the past 4 days and it is blowing again this morning. The fires in our area are in unit 71/711 and exploded last night to over 1000 acres. It is really dry. I have a place that records lightning strikes and we had over 700 in are area, all dry lightning.

The wind has been crazy here too. No fires thank goodness.

Wonder how many hunters are going to turn in their tags for Utah and Colorado??

The tag turn in thing may be a real deal. However the harder part to answer is whether or not the good habitat is burning or is it peripherary stuff.

Some of the videos on the evening news look like the fires are burning habitat.
Hopefully the fires will jump around some areas with all the wind we're having and leave some habitat behind.
