If you could change your profession, what would it be?

I got an FFL as soon as I turned 21 hoping someday to open a shop. During the Clinton administration the ATF started increasing the requirements and after 3 years when it came time to renew my license I let it go. They pretty much scared me out of it, a decision I have regretted ever since...

    Just saw this

Totally agree with what they are trying to accomplish, but I would not want to be one of officers trying to enforce this. I can just imagine all of the BS they are going to have to listen too.

If you could change your profession, what would it be?

I made a career change 2 years ago. I spent about 24 years working in management at a Paper Mill holding many different positions over the years. I had an opportunity to switch to basically a consultant for a chemical company servicing the Paper Mills in the area. While it has turned out to...

WI Family Saves Bear While Fishing

That's what I told my kids, poor bear finally found a way to cross the lake without getting his face wet and now he probably drowned because of his fear of water.

    Other interests

I fish a little, I really enjoy playing basketball but I don't think I'll be able to keep doing it much longer. I remember when my father would look forward to logging after he retired from the VA, I thought he was crazy, now I really enjoy running a chainsaw or almost any type of outdoor work...

    Grizzly / Wolf question

My take on this is very simple. Our forefathers eradicated them for a reason and I do not believe they were stupid people. Man has replaced the need for these apex predators to control the population of game species. The only reason to reintroduce them is if you want to remove Man from...

    The Memes Thread!

Good point, I am always lecturing my kids about that but somehow didn't think of this forum as "Social Media". All of the larger corporations are running scared and I really don't feel like being collateral damage at this point in my career. Thanks for the reminder.

    WY Area 114

There's a good amount of 2-tracks, but like everywhere else out west if they get a decent amount of moisture they may not be passable.

Very tough to find them on pubic, but like previously stated several landowners will let you you shoot does. There are even some listed on the Wyoming game and fish public access page.

    Opening The Can Of Worms...Coronavirus...

It's kind of scary, seems like every time we are discussing something we may want to purchase at my house we start seeing internet ads for it when we go on the web.

    Access Yes

I donate every time I apply for a license. On the years that I don't apply I don't donate just because I don't remember to do it. I have hunted lots of walk in areas and am very appreciative for the opportunity.

    Wilderness Archery Elk

Pretty much the way I hunt everything now days. I scout the other hunters, see where I would go to get away from them if I were a deer or an elk and that's where I hunt. Works well for deer, worked the one time we did it for elk.

    Happy Father's Day !!!

I lost my father when I was 17 years old. He was and still is my hero. Father's day has always been bitter sweet for me. It has been 30 years but I still think of him daily. He was an ex marine who taught all of us to shoot and hunt and how to be men. I am the youngest of 15 kids 12 boys and...

    Advice for new .22 pistol

When the coyote came back to life in the back of the pickup truck it latched onto my brothers knee cap. Ruined a perfectly good pair of waders, and he broke a paddle trying to finish it off. We had many crazy stories like that which is why I now use a .22!

    Advice for new .22 pistol

I've been using a stainless steal Ruger 10/22 for trapping for about 20 years. As you said I am amazed at it's reliability. During trapping season I do not take as good of care for it as I should but I have NEVER had it jam or misfire, it has never let me down. I shoot cheap ammo through it...
