    Why no standardized .24-06 and .26-06 ??

A part of my wishes I had stuck with the CNC Lathe industry and turned chambers with boring bars and reamer setups...I really liked doing that work. I could have pursued a career in chamber modifications for Wildcatting. Not sure if there was any money in doing gunsmithing though. I looked into...

OHV Trails - Colorado National Forest Land

I have the OHV map of the area. I will try to pull some more maps today and see if the road is listed on any of those. The map I have definetly does not show the road going in the direction of google earth, but towards some private ground 180 degrees in the different direction.

On another note these underwear are great and now I have somewhere to store my extra pair of socks when I am in the highcountry. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

#longrange # sendit #romperflatbrimhighcountry Whatever # means. I dont do the birdy thing. Although a quick google search has told me I am behind the times. The # (hashtag) symbol is used to mark keywords or topics in your tweet. Twitter originally made the hashtag for users to categorize...

    Why no standardized .24-06 and .26-06 ??

I'll leave the wildcatting to the professionals. Although I have made some 2-3/4" crow loads and 3-1/2" buckshot loads that were rather suspect... Cracked stock with the buckshot loads out of an over under....Probably lucky to be alive. The coyote was not so fortunate. I have since left...

I picked up a couple of these and they are surprisingly comfortable! Even the Mormon Hush guys are wearing them now. They were the "bomb" last elk season in Colorado and they go great with a flat brimmed hat.

Weirdest, oddest, creepiest thing you've seen, or heard.

Ok so moving on from creepy Bernie and uncle forgetfulness. I was walking up a trail in Colorado in the backcountry in the dark on time with lightning crashing all around me while I was going back to camp. It was snowing and lightning at the same time. Most of you have experienced this. It...

    Why no standardized .24-06 and .26-06 ??

How about a 22-06? lol That should push a bullet fairly fast. Didnt they used to make those 22 caliber 30-06 excellerator loads that were 4000 FPS or something for a 30-06?

    Favorite Piece Of Gear???

Everybody should own 1 of these...Its my favorite piece of gear EVERY year. I think I have 4 of them and I'm not sure why aside from the fact that I am afraid to forget one....so I leave them sprinkled across the state at various places...haha It has kept me in the woods when others ran for the...

OHV Trails - Colorado National Forest Land

I obviously will obey the signs. But if there are not signs and "Everybody's doing it" my conscience still always gets the best of me and I park and walk. Plus it would be just my luck to get busted even if there was no sign and being from out of state its an automatic ticket. "I see your not...

    Favorite Rifle???

If I had to choose 1, I would say that I like my 300 WSM the most. Its a fun gun to shoot at the range. I had a guy shooting next to me at my gun club at the 400 yard range. There are 10 benches....9 of them were open and he decided to sit next to me to shoot for whatever reason...... So I...

Not to be a smart ass but I suggest making the campers in the RMNP pay for them....... Non-resident hunters pay $675 to hunt elk. How about those campers start paying their fair share for once.

OHV Trails - Colorado National Forest Land

Thanks for the replies guys. Both very helpful. In today's day and age the "I though I was on the right road" doesn't fly. Especially with OnX maps and such having layers so I prefer not to risk it too much. Interestingly enough one trail I used last season NF loops a half mile in the wrong...

OHV Trails - Colorado National Forest Land

So I have been doing some google earth snooping. I have found a couple areas I want to try but I keep finding these "random trails" zooming all over the national forest. It looks like 4 wheeler trails but upon closer inspection they are NOT legal trails. My fear is that I show up and a bunch of...

    Is there any good news?

ALso, for the record the DOW claimed back in 2016 that the herds in the area were at a RECORD high. Clearly they have lost touch with reality or never had stepped foot or flown a plane over the unit to make those kinds of statements. Of course I am just referring to unit 25 (Which is STILL OTC...
