    Scope for 22-250

Just a simple scope or a more advanced one? A simple 3.5-10 or a 4.5-14x40 Leupold would works quite well. A little bit more advanced would be a 4.5-14x40 CDS from Leupold. I have had a 6.5-20x50 Leupold on my 22-250 for 30+ years and have never felt a need for a different scope.

Nikon Is Getting Out of the Hunting Scope Business

I saw on another forum that Nikon is getting out of the hunting scope business. There is all kinds of speculation such as the bird watchers pressured them to get out but who really knows. A member over there checked and it appears that they will still honor their warranties. So if you are a...

    Mule Deer Assistance

The combo license is not available to non residents. But you have to purchase the small game license to put in for the draw. Then if you draw out they give you a fishing license.

    altitude sickness

The big thing with altitude sickness is that you need to get accumulated to the altitude if you want to hunt higher, and drugs are not a good way to do it. Get to your hunting area 1 or 2 days ahead of time. The first day just take it easy and drink lots of water. It takes time for your...

Am I the only one who does not enjoy cleaning firearms?

While I do use a bore snake occasionally I won't use them to really clean the bore. Think about it, you use the bore snake to get the crud out and then put the bore snake away until the next use. You then place some more solvent and oil onto it and pull it through the bore. But the question...

Am I the only one who does not enjoy cleaning firearms?

As for shooting from a fouled barrel, what happens if you miss your first shot? What happens if you shoot at a animal 2 or 3 times and he gets away, do you take it in and clean it? What if the next animal you see is only a half hour later? I usually don't worry too much about shooting...

    Mule Deer Assistance

The flatland's have just as good of mule deer as the mountains have. However you might have to work harder for them, perhaps not physically but in just finding them. Even in the very best mule deer units in the west you have to work hard to find a buck over 200" if that is what you are...

Am I the only one who does not enjoy cleaning firearms?

It is sad but it is one problem with owning a firearm or multiples of them. I know some people that won't clean their rifles until next fall before they need them again. They also don't do any target shooting during the summer either and then wonder why they have a problem hitting something...

Decided on Caliber - Now need to decide on Rifle

The first three shots out of my Weatherby Vanguard shooting factory ammo right off of the shelf were a very nice clover leaf about 3/8" in diameter at 100 yards. This was a .25-06. It has only gotten better with reloads.

If it is for your Mrs, I would take her down to the gun shop and let her decide. Also look at the Weatherby Vanguard Camila which was built with the ladies in mind.
