    Rangefinder recommendations?

I should of also clarified that I picked one of the best long range hunting bullets along with the max velocity for that bullet out of the loading manual. So actual results will vary and as always shoot your rifle and load at the ranges that you plan on shooting a game animal at and record...

    Rangefinder recommendations?

Not to muddle up this thread but I did a quick check with a ballistic program and here is what I got for a 280AI with a 300 yard zero: bullet Barnes 145g LRX Bt Velocity 3124 Altitude 6000' Temp. 50F 100 yards +3.1 175 yards +4 300 yards 0 400 yards -8.7 500 yards -23.1

    Rangefinder recommendations?

Slugs, you need to play around with a ballistics program with different zero yardage. Then look at the + and - at ranges from 50 yards out as far as you intend to shoot to make the right decision for your zero

    Rangefinder recommendations?

The other thing with a range finder and shooting at distances is do you know the ballistics of the round that you are shooting and or do you have a dial on your scope to adjust for longer ranges? Knowing that a animal is 600 yards away does no good if you can't shoot accurately to that range...

    Why no standardized .24-06 and .26-06 ??

There is a standardized .25-06, it is called the .25-06 Remington. It was a wildcat for a log time until Remington decided to start building rifles and ammo for it in the late 60's. The .24-06 is still a wildcat and I don't see any manufacture building rifles or ammo for it since it would...

I agree Arizona offers some fun easy to draw tags to make use of that required hunting license. Javelina, quail, and second draw deer tags.

    Favorite Rifle???

So many rifles to choose between them. I decided a very long time ago to purchase rifles for single purpose instead of just one or two to cover everything. My favorite all around rifle that can be used for any animal in North America and the majority of Africa would be my .340 Weatherby. If...

Please critique my caribou gear list

I have seen where a scope has been knocked off and resighted with just 3 shots. If it takes more odds are that the scope is finished.

OHV Trails - Colorado National Forest Land

I doubt that it is the ranchers or those who hold the grazing rights to the area. On and off road regulation are the same for all of us. One problem is trying to actually find a correct answer to a question on where it is legal or not to ride. This past year I was helping my brother in law...

    Is there any good news?

The White River herd at one time was the largest elk herd in the nation at one time, I wonder now. They claim that post hunt population there in 2017 was close to 46,000 elk with a bull to cow ratio of 23:100. I know that the CP&W were planning on killing off a lot of bears and cats north...
