Scott,
I take it that the interest in the landowner tag is to get on some country with great genetics, without waiting forever on a drawn tag that may never pan out?
I've never priced one out; but w/points fees rising and point creep (point system states), it might not be as expensive as one...
Anyone ever run Sumitomo or Yokohama AT style tires on their rig? Good/Bad/Indifferent?
FYI
(I went thru my files to see exactly what I had put on the 2012 Tundra up til now)
Current set= General Grabber HTS 60, $754 installed, got ~ 40k miles
Prev set= Cooper Discoverer AT3, $890...
Nah, more like support your 'man card': promote gas guzzling muscle cars, girly swimsuit calendars, hot sauce, arm wrestling, fireworks, Charles Bronson movies, and strong coffee. 😉
Never give in! Never submit!
Will be pulling the trigger soon on the tires. Unfortunately, the tires come 1st. The hot tent comes 2nd. A new rifle 3rd. Just the way it is...LMAO. 😂
I'll need to double check, but for some reason BFG's website only showed truck tires with pure road treads in 255/70R18 size. I know 18" steel rims are ghetto, but its what I got lol😂
So, I know this is a hunting site; but I value the opinions of the forum members much.
My tundra needs new tires. 255/70R18. I had Generals with more of a road tread, but am dissapointed in them. They seemed to have worn out faster than I expected; and really lacked it on mud, but did ok on...
Sounds about right. From time to time, I help a couple of my archer buddies with all that; along with pruning shooting lanes, putting up game cameras; retrieving memory sticks. Its that time of the yr.👍
I decided to kick my 14 yr son off the family computer for few hrs last night so I could spend some time researching these hot tents further.
I had forgot what its like watching you tube videos and reading reviews on a screen larger than a post card!
Really impressed with the 3-D view of the...
I was just telling 'BC the other day we're deep into August now; school starts for my kids in ~ 2 wks and I still haven't gotten out to WY for a quick recon trip....😲
Granted, my tag isn't real high stakes this yr-doe deer-I still enjoy spending a couple days in the hunt area to get a 1st hand...
I think my #4 son (who is 10 now) got it last summer when we were camping >10k' in the Medicine Bow, up the road from Centennial.
We had camped other yrs high up; and last yr, even treated ourselves to our 1st night at a bed and breakfast in Centennial, as we had another family with us, and...
The WIAs are a great program; and I know I speak for the majority of hunters in expressing our gratitude to WY G&F, conservation groups, and most importantly the landowners for providing this opportunity to open up lands for hunting. I believe the powers to be put sincere and serious effort in...
I'm probably thinking too much; but would a shorter tent ceiling promote greater heat retention with the stove/in general-maybe not enough to offset not being able to stand-anyone got thoughts on that?
Gonna give this a bump...
The snowtrekker stuff looked pretty cool; just a little heavier than I might like for going in on foot. For guys with access to horses or some other means of packing stuff in deep, they looked real good, filling in a spot of a higher performance, yet lighter than...
As I was in a tough access * unit last fall for doe antelope in the Powder river breaks, a sole WIA served as my focus for a couple days of a 4 day hunt. I had one good stalk on a small herd on day 2, as well as probably my best opportunity on the 1st afternoon I arrived, that I didn't take as...
I guess it can depend?
In general I agree with the basic idea of moving on if someone is there before you: its sorta like fishing, just suck it up and find another spot.
Not apples to apples, as the OP is asking about a camp deeper in than what I am about to describe, not at a trailhead or...
