Last years deer meat? No problem...

Next time you one that tastes strong, try soaking them overnight in the refer in Buttermilk. Works pretty well taming down the taste.

    Finally...HS Internet!

For the last year Century Link has had a contractor installing underground fiber optic cables in our rural area. Got a call today from them wanting to know if I want to upgrade my internet service to 30 megs (now have dialup @1.5). I said HELL YES! They have it all setup to hookup Dec 30th and...

    Rethinking Deer Gun

I used to make stocks ( over 100) and am a huge proponent of proper stock fit. Most (if not all) factory stocks are designed and made to fit the "average person"......whatever the hell that is! Less felt recoil and better accuracy are both possible with a stock that fits the shooter. Length of...

What do you do with your horns/antlers?

Have a set just like this in my mud room.

What do you do with your horns/antlers?

I also tried making buttons out if them. Sliced them and drilled small holes used to sew on. But didn't last too long as the repeated washing of the shirt weakened the marrow and the buttons pulled off.

Anyone ever done a "safari-style" hunt in Wyoming?

You are correct. When I did it years ago, I was applying for tags of the same species. Still something to keep in mind.

Anyone ever done a "safari-style" hunt in Wyoming?

When you apply for the type 6 tag, you have the option of not applying for the type 6 tag if you don't draw the buck tag. Has to be done together when applying.

Anyone ever done a "safari-style" hunt in Wyoming?

Yep...done it numerous times, mostly for deer & antelope. I tend to like to hunt antelope after opening, lees crowds. This year wet hunted the last 4 days of antelope and the first days of deer as the butted up to each other. Even tho deer units are number different from antelope, if you take...

What do you do with your horns/antlers?

Just wondering what everybody does with the horns/antlers after you got your animal. I have a 60 year collection that I have in my garage. I have mounted some and used some for drawer handles and knife handles. Here is whats in my garage.

    2020 Family WY Antelope Hunt

Why not start with a type 6 doe/fawn tag to start with. You can get another point for everyone (no point are used for the type 6 tag), scout the country for a future buck hunt and bring home some meat. I hunt does quite a bit while building points for another buck hunt and they are very cheap...
