I always worry about the weather. After I booked a hunt in Alabama years ago. Guy told us to make sure we brought fishing pole. Ponds full of bass. When got there that year all the ponds were bone dry with large cracks. Worst drought in 50 years. as you can imagine hunting in November in 90...

2 Blade Fixed Broadhead, No Blood Trail

No experience with elk and two blade broad heads. But I have killed many whitetail deer with them and most fell with in sight and plenty of blood. One thing to consider is all the deer I shot were from elevated stands and a lower exit hole. On a large animal like elk and shooting from ground...

    220 Year Old Elk Antlers

Carbon dating does not work like that. No way to just take the arrow head alone and derive a carbon date. Carbon dating is done by several things. The level or area of placement in a dig. Then taking bone or wood material from the same level or area and dating it. These combination of things...

You can't eat antlers, but they sure look good on the wall. Don't those Governors tags raise a lot of money for conservation?

Hilltop, I have agree with your view. Crazy times for sure with a lot of rash decisions being made. That is what worries me the most with a hut coming up in mid October.

    New Mexico requiring quarantine

Not trying to poke any eyes, but I am not sure some of you understand rural America. You think you have rights in local courts. Only if you have the money to appeal it to a higher court. I hope it does not happen, but out of state hunters need to know what is going on in the area they plan to...

    New Mexico requiring quarantine

The out of State license plate on hunter's vehicle could be a problem this fall for many of us. All it takes is one glory seeking sheriff to ruin your hunt. Lets all pray this simmers down some in the next few weeks. If it continues to get worse. Fall of 2020 could be a nightmare for us.

    2020 Fishing

After looking into these Golden trout. They are not related to the California Golden trout. These are rainbow trout that have different color phase. Arkansas bought them from a hatchery out of Missouri. Some federal money was received due to flood damage to an Arkansas hatchery. Also traded...

    Social media affects

I have noticed social media has change our hunting and fishing. People posting bragging photos. It will draw a lot of people to areas they would of never hunted or fished in the past. I have decided I would no longer tell the area or location of my hunting or fishing. Is that selfish or not...

    Moon phase and mule deer

A lot of data there, but not sure how it helps in putting a tag on a buck. Is this a 30 day period? It looks like the chances are about the same on any given day.
