I don't scout in the summer. I just wait till season and drive around till I find a truck parked that looks like they know what they are doing and in a good looking spot and hunt there. That works well for turkey season as well.o_O

That is bad news. Planning a elk hunt for my son, a friend, and myself. They each have 1 point and I have 2. That means it could be another 4 years just to draw a general tag. I am going to think real hard. I may have reached the point I decide to get out of the game.

Is that method legal In Alaska ? If so why can't you debone the hams and shoulders?

Correct me if I am wrong, but that sounds like adding at least one pack out trip for just the bone. So why the requirement? I don't normally get rib meat on deer or antelope. Or I should say the meat in between the rib bone. I get everything else and would not have a problem cutting the meat...

I see that you can not debone meat and ribs must be taken. I am not sure of the reason behind this. Just seems like a guy would have to pack a lot of weight just to throw away.

Well I guess antelope are in worse shape than I knew. That is a huge decrease in doe/fawn tags. Even though the area I hunted only saw 400 to 300 reduction in doe tags. I have to say it needs a total cut of doe tags to help the heard rebound.
