    Ford N9 Tractor

Neighbor just sold his house and is moving. He gave me his N9 and several attachments. Doesn't seem to run well as it overheats. Guess I got a new project. I'm going to start with the radiator and water pump. One of the attachments is a brush hog, should get a lot of use out of it.

    Fishing 2015

Seeing all these Browns, just had to show the one my wife caught a couple of years ago. She was using one of my special "Garden Hackles". A great big night crawler that I inflated so it would float up off the bottom. I surprised her with a mount of it for Christmas. Took all the dimensions &...

    Scouting

Spent a lot of the last 2 days scouting a unit that I have never hunted elk there before. I made a mistake and put the wrong unit choice for my M/L elk choice. I drew it and then realized I had a problem. Luckily it is only 60 miles north of my home place so I can spend some time scouting. This...

    Fishing 2015

Just got back from a week of fishing at Vallecito Res (20 miles east of Durango). Fishing was really tough, only caught a few rainbows and Kokanees. The week before we got there it was a wide open bite.....go figure! Fun anyway and got to put some hours on my new pontoon boat.

    Another forum newbie, here...

Welcome. Being from the eastern Sierras you probably know my former stomping grounds before I moved to Colorado. Used to work at Red's Meadows near Mammoth while I was in college. I love to fish too. I am attaching a pix of some real rare trout.......do you know what they are? Look forward to...

    Mule Deer Success Thread!

I live down in SW Colorado and we have tons of deer in our home area, mostly ag area, orchards and hay. I have an apple orchard and usually shoot a doe every year for the freezer. Occasionally there will be a decent buck around too, especially during the rut. I shot this 4x4 a few years ago. I...

    Jack O'Conner's "Lost Classics"

I grew up reading Jack O'Conner in "Outdoor Life" magazine. He is responsible for some of the philosophy I have about hunting and shooting. A few years ago my wife bought me the book "Lost Classics". I ran out of reading material (which I do on a regular basis) and started to reread it again. It...

    Magazine printing and distribution-MRS

I know lots of you want the online MRS and everyone at Eastmans is working hard on it......BUT for those of us who are Ludites are waiting for our printed versions. I don't have a smart phone and don't want one, so I'll continue to depend on the magazine for mine. It sure seems late to...

    Who will return??

I've seen several really nice bucks when I didn't have a tag or not in season and didn't see them again. There are lots of deer that winter in my area, sometimes see up to 100 at one time. I remember one particular buck that was here 3 years in a row and then never saw again. He had wonderful...

    Getting Old.....

I realize most of you are not in this situation....yet, but over the winter I've spent a lot of time thinking about it. I am 73 now and have been hunting since I was 7. Over the years, I have learned a lot and can put a lot of this knowledge into practice. I have mentored several young people...

    Waterfowl season is finally over

There is nothing to compare bird hunting with a dog. Besides being a great companion, they really improve your bag, especially upland birds. My Lab pup is now 10 months old and unfortunately I didn't get to hunt her this fall due to my ankle problem. Working her every day now and looking forward...
