    Uploading pictures

I just tried to upload from my desktop a photo for a new post. Would not insert images says "file too large". Did the parameters for pictures that can be loaded change with the new webpage software? I've loaded this picture before with no problems.

    Magnums-best recoil compromise?

My rifle for elk & larger game is a .300 Wby built on a custom commercial Mauser action. I shoot a 180 gr bullet in my handloads. I do have a muzzlebreak that is threaded so I can remove it. As several have mentioned, the bench work is where it beats you up. The break cuts the recoil down to...

    iPhone XS Camera

A few months back I got rid of my flip phone and got an Xs so I could use it on our trip to Alaska. I got it more for emails and staying in touch with a few friends on Facebook, but the pictures are fantastic. The only downside for me is it is heavy and big compared to the old flip phone.

    Apollo 11.....50 Years Later

When I started, everyone had a slide rule and one of the old clunky Frieden calculator. I was recently cleaning out some storage boxes and found my slide rule and I couldn't remember how to use it...LOL!

    Apollo 11.....50 Years Later

Jim, I was very fortunate in being in a field of work that I loved, I was never bored. Spent 37 years doing it and worked with some great people.

    Apollo 11.....50 Years Later

:eek:Not faked. I held a top secret security clearance for many years and worked on a number of classified programs, among the B2 Stealth Bomber and YF23 Advanced Technology Fighter. The way security is maintained other than the "need to know", is to compartmentalize everything. I had over 100...

    Apollo 11.....50 Years Later

50 years ago I was a young, inexperienced kid just out of college and landed a job at North American Aviation on the Apollo Program. I was working with all these old geeks, most WW2 vets. They had a lot of patience and taught me a lot. Now I am the old geek and most of my mentors are gone. I was...

What Makes A Big Mule Deer?????

What do you prefer & why....Ford Chevy or Ram truck? You'll get about as many answers as the amount of the US debt! Myself...I like wide stance and lots of mass. A narrow rack (no matter how high) just doesn't do it for me. I've been hunting mulies for 65 years and have shot over 100 bucks. I...

How Do You Define A Successful Scouting Trip?

I don't do a lot of online looking at an area I'm going to hunt. I look at Google Earth and get a little perspective as to terrain. Nothing beats rubber on the gravel and boots in the dirt. I'll look for things you can't see easily, old scat, old beds and trails to & from water sources. I hunted...

Which state has the best opportunities and draw odds for Resident Hunters

When I relocated from California after I retired 20 years ago, hunting opportunities was a major consideration. I relocated to Colorado. My first choice was Wyoming, but my wife had other ideas. In 20 years I have been able to hunt elk, deer, antelope and waterfowl and do pretty well. It took a...

    Reloder-16, Reloder-22, Reloder-26 Q&A

I agree with JimP on almost everything he has said. I use a .30 cal bullet that was designed over 50 years ago. It shoots sub moa and kills. (Nosler Partition). The load I use in my 30-06 & 25-06 I developed then 40 years or so ago. I do like to play around with my .220 AI Swift, fun to work...
