Where U going to hunt this year???

I did......but got invited on a hunt with some guys who all have a lot of points. They said with Wyo's averaging for a group, they would have enough to cover me. What could I say!

    KC champs

Watched the game and enjoyed most of it....but with that being said, I have a comment about sports today. I am sick and tired with the "in your face" celebrations that are the norm in both pro & college sports today. I played college football at a major college program back in the day. When I...

Where U going to hunt this year???

Looks like I'm in for a Wyoming deer hunt. I have enough points to draw several different units for elk & deer here in Colorado, but waiting till the deadline for applications to decide what I'm doing here. I should be able to get in several scouting trips before I apply.

    Wyoming 30 years ago

We bought our doe tags at a gas station and a hardware store. They were issued a book full and when they were gone, that was it. Back then hunting was pretty simple, no ohv's, just jeeps and 4x4 trucks. Land owners were very welcoming too.

    Wyoming 30 years ago

    Fall Waterfowl Pics

The only thing bad is the lack of Sprig. Usually we kill more Sprig than any other type. Their population is down and so is the bag limit.

    Wolves in Colorado

Really questions the action P & W would have to take if the initiative passes and they are directed to come up with a plan to bring wolves back to Colorado since they are already here!

Let the gov't goat slaughter begin!

Stocking and transplanting are 2 different things IMO. Does Wyoming plant Chukar or Huns in areas they are not in now? My point is 30 or 40 years ago G & F depts. were looking for habitat that they could introduce species that would increase hunters and fisherman opportunities that were not...

Let the gov't goat slaughter begin!

My point was that they are not doing much if any transplanting today, just the opposite. If the todays philosophy was in effect back in the day, there are a lot of species of fish & game that would not be where they are today.

Let the gov't goat slaughter begin!

The thing that gets me is the change in philosophy by game & fish departments and biologists all across the country. Back in the 50's, 60's & 70's they were all about enhancing the wildlife and fish opportunities for the sportsman, They experimented with planting different kinds of upland game...

    Thinking about coming back

Every state's point system is different. Some are pretty straight forward, others are pretty complex. Basically in Colorado you can buy a point for a species or receive one if you apply and do not draw a tag for a species. There are variations like "weighted" points for certain species. My...
