There are a lot of different things that come into play as mentioned. About 10 years ago I found a bullet that really shot well in my .257 Wby mag. I shot an antelope with it and found that when it hit a bone, the bullet exploded and really made a mess. Never used that bullet again.

Doe Mule Deer..........10 yards with a .38 pistol. When I owned a pretty large apple orchard (265 trees) here in SW Colorado, the deer were driving me nuts eating apples and my trees. I got 5 depredation tags from Game & Fish and took my S & W Model 15 .38 cal with a red Dot sight and climbed...

I have a set of Leupold blued steel !'" scope rings that came off the rifle I ruined. They fit a commercial Mauser action and are detachable rings with a lever on the bases.. Leupold still makes them and they have different bases for other actions available. Pictures of them are on my Thread...

Not sure very many states do OTC Antelope anymore except a few units in Wyoming. Need to check the websites as things change every year. Thye ones that are leftover in Wyoming usually are in units that are largely private land.

In the last several months I have noticed a big drop off of posts. I would expect to see an increase of successful tag holders and future hunters asking lots of questions and asking for advice. Is it just me or have other members noticed the same thing?

After a couple of weeks that were pretty dry, the monsoons are back The last 2 night lots of thunder, lightening and rain. Our irrigation water allotment was increased last week for the second time this season. Hope this continues for another month or so.

I bought my son a Model 600 in .243 when ne was 12. He still has it over 40 years later and it still shoots lights out. It is a tack driver for sure.

I just bought the #1B. It is NIB and unfired. Comes with rings and has real nice wood with a beavertail fore end.

I found a pretty good deal on a #1 in .300 Wby. for $1,100. Pictures are being text to me and fif it is as good as I think it is, I'll be buying it.

I have found a couple, but the rechamber is an option. I am not in any hurry except if I find one that I really like. My 30-06 will do me fine for elk this year.

This and Facebook. The only reason for Facebook is there are several groups of people I worked with and went to school with that I am a member of so we can keep in touch.
