There are no perfect systems. This one works just fine. The hunters who turned those high-point tags back in obviously had some unforseen issues pop up. Now you have a chance to apply for them ... good for you.

Ok, so 8 folks turned in some high point tags due to family issues, etc ... nothing wrong with that. Now we can all try for them ... good deal.

CPW actually has dozens of things to do this time of year ... this is just one of them. The system isn't broken at all, it's just not doing what you'd like it to. You might be happier if you'd consider hunting in another state with a different system that suits you better.

Just a reminder, Leftover and Over-the-Counter (OTC) licenses become available starting in Agugust. Leftover limited licenses are licenses that weren’t issued in the primary draw. They become the licenses eligible for the secondary draw, and any remaining licenses after the secondary draw...

Just a reminder: The 2023 Secondary Draw Application Deadline is 8:00 pm Mountain Time June 30, 2023.

The 2nd draw application period is 21-30 June. Last year they waited until pretty close to the first day (21st) to release the list.

Me too, but there’s no way to tell if I drew my 1st or 2nd choice until I get their email. But at least I drew something!!

There’s no more species due out today, just moose and bear. Deer, Elk and pronghorn will come out over the next three days, in no particular order.

No moose for me either ... but only 20 years.

I stopped in to our CPW office a little while ago and talked to them about it. They confirm today will be Moose and bear. But after that, they said it’s totally random … no telling what’s coming next.

Supposedly they closed the back door, I also just wait for an email now.
