    Snow in SW Colorado

Last night as I went to bed, it was just starting to snow. This morning there is about 4" on the ground and it's still snowing. This just the first storm, more to come later in the week. Looks like the San Juans and La Platas are getting hammered. Have to go to Physical Therapy this am, then...

    The Lightest Weatherby Rifle Ever

I also like the new WBY..........BUT I already have a .300 & .257 Wby and shoot a 30-06 & 25-06 too. At my age I would like a lighter rifle, but I think I'll carry around the extra weight and save the money for hunting trips.

Don't put all your faith in onx!

You are right about most of the data being correct. But they depend on county information (as you said) but the counties can be wrong! They county changed the name of my road several years ago and it still has not been corrected on their maps. I put my current address in my gps and it say no...

    Rethinking Deer Gun

I'm with JimP. I have shot my 25-06 since 1970. I have a Ruger M77 that I bought new. It is topped with a Leupold 4x14 VXlll with a ballistic turret. I handload and shoot a 117 gr Sierra BT Game King bullet. I have shot over 100 animals with it (Deer, antelope, hogs) and have never had a...

Just returned from my S.E. Ohio rut bow hunt

I too had a bad experience on a guided elk hunt several years ago. I tried to talk to the outfitter after the hunt to no avail, I also wrote several letters that were unanswered. It is partially my fault as I didn't do enough researching this particular outfitter. The references supplied by...

    Tag Soup 2019

3 of us went to Wyoming with 5 antelope tags and I deer tag. Got the antelope (3 bucks and 2 does). But.....tag soup on the buck deer. Took 13 point for me to draw the deer tag and I had my chance, but the stars were not lined up right and a great buck is still spreading his genes in his territory!

    Veterans Day

It's called Soldierstone and if you Google it, you'll find a very interesting story about it and it's builder. A local friend (a Vietnam vet) and I visited it several years ago. It is very awe inspiring.

What to top my new rifle with

I limit myself to 500 yds....that's all the further I've shot any of my rifles on paper. The longest shot I ever tried was 425 with my 25-06 at a buck antelope. One shot, dead on!

What to top my new rifle with

A lot of us have Ballistic Turrets (many of you don't ), here's why I do. The one thing you must have before a ballistic turret makes sense is to have settled on one load for that particular rifle. The BT is setup for one load and if you change, the point of impact (poi) will probably change...
