    What is your favorite hunt?

Lots of time on my hands and got to thinking about all the various hunts I have done. I am 78 now and have hunted over 70 years in a lot of different places, with a lot of different people. My all time favorite hunt was an elk hunt with my Dad here in Colorado. October 2008; San Juan Mts/NF...

Where I want to be right now!

My relatives were also pioneers in Austin. They are buried in the Pioneer Cemetery there. We have been there several times at Memorial Day cleaning it up.

Where I want to be right now!

Have you ever visited Ft. Ruby. My GGGrandfather was stationed there during the Civil War. It is a pretty cool place.

As they say in California....the "Big One" could happen any day. I'm glad I'm not there.

    shake it up baby

I lived the first 58 of my 78 years in southern California.....home of earthquakes! The first one I remember was when I was 8, rolled me right out of bed! The 2 that really stand out were the Whittier and the Sylmar ones. I have lost count of how many I felt there...

How about a place close to home. Lone Cone in the San Juans, about 50 miles north of here.

Where I want to be right now!

With all of the stay at home, hunker down mentality going around right now, something to lighten the mood. Post a picture of where you want to be right now, no people in the picture, just landscape photos. Tell us where it is too 11:30 PM sunset in Kenai, Alaska.

If your stuck at home what are you and your families doing to pass the time?

Spring is a busy time for us. We usually do our chores (She has chickens and I working on our irrigation system) in the morning. We have been playing Cribbage in the afternoon (with a glass or 2 of wine). My wife has also dusted off her files and is trying to finish a book she is writing. I am...

Los Angeles Couty Sheriff close gun stores

The last paragraph explains exactly where his order actually is in effect, only in areas he controls. Incorporated cities that have their own police force are not covered by this. A friend of mine in California whose son manages a large hunting, fishing and gun shop told me they had no inventory...

I also have had Shingles...not fun. Hurt like hell. I get shots for shingles, pneumonia and now the flu. Can't be too careful, especially the older you get and your immune system is not as great as it once was.

I remember all the other flus. During my annual physical, my Dr said "you havn't had your flu shot. I'll give it to you". I said I have NEVER had a flu shot and I have never had the flu, why should I have one now? The problem is I'm 78 years old ! I finally relented and had the shot. If I was 10...

My load would OO buck backed up with slugs. I shot a 300# hog in the shoulders with a slug.....went all the way thru, definitely didn't flatten like a pancake! They are not pure lead and lots harder than pure lead.

I thought the same too, but have changed my mind. The number of people coming down and dying from it in New York alone is enough for me to know that this is real! The big cities with concentrations of millions of people are perfect locations for this type of virus to breed and be spread. My...

    shelter in place

Our Gov issued a stay at home edict yesterday taking effect at 6:00 am today. I have plenty to do to get ready for irrigation water being delivered next week. Lots of small projects on tap also.
