    MOA at different elevations

Among hunters this has only become a topic for discussion in the last 20 years or so. It really only comes into play at extreme ranges, my guess is over 500 yards. Why did I pick this number? Because I never shoot beyond that range with my hunting rifles. I have never experienced any change that...

    6.5 To kill an elk?

If you'll read my first post, I am not advocating anyone give up what they now shoot and go to a .30 caliber. I happen to shoot .30 calibers for elk and they do exactly what I want them to do. I didn't say you should give up your .270 and shoot a .30....whatever works for you, works for you. I...

    6.5 To kill an elk?

I definately qualify as an "older guy" as I'm 78. I shoot a .300 Wby with a muzzle brake and I doesn't rattle my dentures (I don't have any!). I also shoot a 30-06 w/o a break. As I stated earlier, nothing less than .30 cal for elk (and larger game) for me. My Wby kicks less than my 25-06.

    New Mexico requiring quarantine

Just got back from a week in Gunnison and lots of restrictions as Jim said. Lots of big lighted signs on all the highways saying "Face masks are mandatory". We were at Crested Butte and almost everyone was wearing a mask. Pretty crowded too. All in all, I was quite surprised with how crowded...

    Corona Virus Quarantine

It won't be long before hunting seasons start, that's why I posted this. Things don't seem to be getting better, so we should really stay on top of this.

    Corona Virus Quarantine

My son just finished a visit home to do his taxes. He owns his own trucking business and spends a lot of time going thru Wyoming. He told me that he had heard that Wyoming was going to start quarantining non residents for 14 days. I hadn't heard anything about this so I called Wyoming G & F and...

I have a 2 acre pond and work my black Lab in the water exclusively in the summer. She likes to play with a frisbe type of toy and when she feels hot, in the water she goes. Lucky to have the water for her .

Used to hunt doves in September in California's Imperial Valley where it could get to 115 or more. Had to really be careful with any dog, especially Labs with the heat. I saw a friends Lab actually pass out and have a seizure from working in the heat. He was never the same again!
