    CORNERSTONE GUN DOG TRAINING ACADEMY

Training your own dog is very satisfying. I have trained 3 and all of them turned out to be great hunters. Good luck.

    Wildlife task force, 90-10, etc.

A few years back after my last Elk draw, I realized that I probably would never draw any of the units I wanted to hunt again. At my age I don't have all that many years left to hunt. I will continue to buy points and apply for antelope and deer, but none of the rest of the big game tags or...

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there. My dad has been gone since 2016. He taught me a lot about being a man and the values that make you a good person. Miss him a lot.

Where would you move to if you had your choice of any western State to live in?

One state was not given serious consideration by my wife and I, that was Alaska. We lived all our lives in southern California, definately a warm weather state. After spending a month in Alaska in 2019, I know now that we should have included it in our considerations for a retirement home...

Where would you move to if you had your choice of any western State to live in?

My wife and I spent the 20 years before I retired in 2000 traveling to every western state looking for our retirement home. It came down to 2 states, Colorado & Wyoming. Specifically Lander, Wy and Dolores/Cortez Co. Hunting was not at the top of my list for our retirement home. (it was in the...

    Monsoons in SW Colorado

The last week or so has been eye opening for me. The last couple of years here in the SW part of Colorado our normal summer monsoons have been a bust. Without them our drought has gotten worse. The last week or so has offered some hope that the trend might be different this year. The normal...

    Summer Scouting?

A lot depends on where I'm hunting. In an area that I am familiar with, usually the later the better. Conditions change over the summer, especially water availability. I have scouted antelope in July and went back in September and conditions had completely changed. It also depends on the animal...
