    Lynx

I got to watch a family of lynx today on the Anchorage hillside, 5 in all, but could only get 3 in the camera at one time. Really fun to watch them, sorry I couldn't get closer for better photo's, but still pretty cool! You can tell by their tracks that they were very active and playful.

    Alcan trip

I just finished a trip south on the Al-Can highway. Didn't see as much wildlife as expected; some rather scrawny caribou, a cow moose and a couple bears. I did see one giant Dall sheep ram but not close enough to photograph. I stopped in to see where SneakyPete is hunting but he and his son...

    Ruttin' time

I was able to cow-call in a bull this evening and his cow followed. It's fun to get a response when you don't know one is around. They were both very vocal. He came in from at least 500 yards, talking the whole way! She apparently isn't quite ready for him, but is close!

    Sleepy bull

I've seen this bull several times but I don't catch him laying down often. His ears are back and he was either irritated by me and my dog or by mosquitos. Just beginning to raking his antlers!

    cranky bears

It's been a tough year for people/bear conflicts so far. Last week 3 teens were hospitalized after being mauled by a brown bear just a little north of Anchorage. Yesterday a 16 year old boy was killed by a black bear just south of Anchorage. The lad was running in a long established mountain...

    A few from the ALCAN

Saw some real nice wildlife on the drive down from Alaska. The lynx was actually following the grizzlies around but I couldn't get them all in the same frame for a photo. Fun to watch though! Beats looking at Trump and Clinton!!
