AK moose hunt 2018. 52" bull shot at 300 yards with my Rifles Inc LW70 and a 180gr Nosler E tip. Trip I will never forget. Dean and I booked in 2015 for a 2018 hunt. We were both successful, Dean got a smaller bull the last day. The plane left us on our own to hunt for 11 days.

Buck my buddy Dean got on our CO hunt in 2019. I spotted him at 12 yards bedded and trying to hide, it was Dean's turn to shoot and he didn't miss at that range! 178.5" gross

My buck from 2018 CO. A last minute buck I was lucky to get. We were headed back to camp to pack up and leave when I spotted him. He was standing in the shade next to a pine watching us, waiting for us to pass so he could slip through. One shot at 212 yards facing me prevented tag soup.

    Opening The Can Of Worms...Coronavirus...

I'm just going to hole up and ride it out. I'm to busy on the ranch now to go anywhere anyway with all the cows calving. As long as we can get fuel delivered we could go a couple months without needing to leave. We could skimp by for a while on what we have by being conservative, and with...

    Camp Food- Post a Picture!

Base camp kitchen set up in the 14ft half top stock trailer we haul the UTV out in. Makes a good cook shack, gear shed, and hang out area outside the tipi tent. Most meals are a sauce we make at home and freeze. Each morning that evenings meal is set out to thaw. One pot is used to boil water...

Moose tenderloin and stovetop stuffing on an AK drop camp hunt. Dean did a good job cooking that night.

One of the other guys going with me shoots the same ammo from his 300 win mag. Between us we will have 40 rounds. There won't be an opportunity to check the rifle after we fly in unless we do it from camp and risk scaring caribou. I really don't like that, I much prefer to shoot the rifle...

Yeah I agree that the handgun is probably not necessary, but its an item I want to take anyway. Even if I don't take the 10mm I will take a lighter 357, but for now the 10mm is going to make the weight limit. I could picture myself doing some fishing and leaving the rifle at camp or on the...

    Ranching and Coyotes

We just started calving now too. I haven't got one yet, but have been passing on some tough shots. They will stop being as scared of me while I'm checking heifers soon and stop to look back a little sooner. I won't pass those shots. Good luck on the coyotes and on calving.

Good points. One of our guys already asked out transporter about butane and we were good there. I like the firewood idea. If we have the weight allowance I might do that. We were bringing extra stove fuel since we figured firewood would be non-existent.

Thanks guys, lots of good tips. Neos doesn't make the old River Trekker hip boots anymore do they? I would love to get a pair of those but have not been able to find them.

These kits get stored together but in separate gallon ziplock bags. Some items might need used between them, like taking tape from the repair kit to wrap up a wound. The sutures aren't something I want to use but I've sewed up livestock and they lived. They are as much for gear repair as...

Thanks guys. I forgot to put the communications on the list. will have a couple In Reach devices along. I have a mini and a friend has the full size. I used the trip as an excuse to buy the 10mm, better not tell the wife if I leave it at home! I agree on the calls. If we use them it will be...
