I would either find a friend to hunt a general area or plan to sit back and wait a few more years. 12 points doesn't get you much these days imo.

It's sad but the reality is, people need to make the most of any tag they draw because it may be a decade or 2 or 3 before you get it again. Enjoy those hunts like they are your last. Interest in western hunting is increasing exponentially and money appears to not be a factor.

Decent is a matter of opinion and how many points it takes increases yearly. Am area that takes 5 points this year may take 5.5 or 6, or maybe even more next year. No way to predict how many will apply. The premium areas that most consider really good will basically be once in a lifetime...

Have a buddy that feels strongly about this... his answer is Seekins but i believe that is due to past issues with Bergara. I don't have experience with either.

My uninsulated Danners are warmer than a couple other brands I have with light insulation. I think they are just a warm boot.

I helped friends this year with 2 different moose hunts in Wyoming. I was inside of 5 yards to bulls almost every day. Nerve racking at times but what an experience. They are so easy to call in.

Nighttime thermal hog hunt combined with shark fishing in south Texas. Maybe 2k combined for a fun 3 days.

The top options shuts all exterior off on mine.

Newer means something different to everyone. My 2019, and 2021 had additional options. Pretty sure my 17 did as well at least for interior lights.

Mine has a all lights off switch position. There should be a button on the ceiling that turns off interior lights, regardless if the doors are open or shut. Mine is a newer f150.

Or you can just use the switch to turn them from auto to off. There is also a button on your ceiling that allows you to turn off inside lights when you open the door.

Any area that takes 10 points to draw will be a great hunt. Really any 6+ point area will be a solid hunt. Pick a region that interests you.

Just my opinion... Western states helping youth isn't the issue. Demand far exceeding supply is the issue. If we are to encourage youth to hunt long term, the answer is in small game, waterfowl, and local deer hunts. Western hunts will be a special treat a few times in their life if...

I have been a Leupold fan most of my life. They have served me well but the last model fell a bit short of expectations. My newest rifle has a Trijicon. Jury is still out but so far its a pretty amazing scope.

It's not a buck but my son got his first archery deer last night. I was in the stand with him. Great experience for both of us!

Only after it rains... most landowners won't go through what this guy has and no law enforcement is going to touch it right now. Just my opinion.
