Wyo Task Force - Nonres Comments!

The task force meeting is about resident opportunity. I’m pretty sure Buzz has around 6 or 7 …possibly more big game tags this year. That’s an incredible amount of opportunity!

Wyo Task Force - Nonres Comments!

JimP, I guess we will agree to disagree on your statement that, "When you come down to it Wyoming manages their wildlife for the residents of Wyoming to hunt." Wyo nonres provide 77% of the revenue from license and pref pt fees and overall nonres provide about 50% of the total revenue that...

Wyo Task Force - Nonres Comments!

Buzz, the task force is definitely about Wyo res opportunity! If my memory is correct you have 2 elk, 3 or 4 deer, and around 6 antelope tags in Wyo this year. That's incredible amount of Wyo res opportunity if you ask me! That's without 90/10!

    WY Area 68 Pronghorn

Last year was super dry during the summer in that unit. Some of the water sources totally dried up by the end of the summer and antelope tended to migrate long distances from where they were earlier in the summer. Where there are good water sources there generally are more antelope.

Wyo Task Force - Nonres Comments!

Buzz, how much pref pt revenue have Wyo res contributed for deer elk and antelope to the WG&F the past 15 years? Buzz, What is the pref pt fee for res sheep and moose? How about nonres? Wyo res pref pt fees are $7 each! Nonres pay $150 each! Buzz, how many nonres vs res applied for sheep...

Wyo Task Force - Nonres Comments!

Wyo residents have never had a pref point system for deer, elk, and antelope and paid a penny to support the WG&F through pref pt fees that nonres have been paying for up to 25 years! Take a look at who's funding WG&F revenue. It definitely isn't the Wyoming residents! 77% of the total...

Wyo Task Force - Nonres Comments!

JM, It's obvious the task force is aware that nonres are not in favor of 90/10. The scary part is that nonres have so much on the line but have 0 voice as members on the task force. The only thing nonres can do is voice their opinion in public comments sections via email. Be sure to send in...

Wyo Task Force - Nonres Comments!

If you are a concerned nonres and have years of applications and $ invested into the Wyo pref pt system....especially for the Big 5 species you can submit comments directly to the Task Force for the July 8th meeting. You must do this by 5:00 pm on July 6th! 90:10 would cut nonres limited tags...

    Sheep judging tips and tactics

Obviously if you’re interested in score, mass is a huge chunk in the score. Deserts are a bit different and tougher to determine length due to their flair. You may be aware that horn drop below the jaw is important. This generally means longer length with a bigger “0” from a side view. It...

    Wildlife task force, 90-10, etc.

https://www.307hunter.com/articles/wildlife-task-force-set-to-recommend-9010-for-sheep-goat-moose-grizzly-bison What do you think Buzz? There certainly seems to be a lot of craziness going on behind closed doors with task force members. In particular, in regard to the outfitters, landowner...

    Wildlife task force, 90-10, etc.

Obviously a lot of Wyoming residents are complaining about not drawing high demand limited tags for years; however most take advantage and hunt general deer and elk units every year. I thought it would be interesting to compile a spread sheet of popular elk units with 2021 resident draw odds...

    Wildlife task force, 90-10, etc.

Buzz how many Wyo res like you have similar buddies like you with horses to hunt without a guide when they draw sheep tags? It's even possible to rent horses? Also, do you know how much outfitters in the wilderness areas are charging for their sheep hunts? I don't think there are many Wyo res...

    Wildlife task force, 90-10, etc.

I'm not calling BS that this happened.....I'm calling BS that there is something fishy going on by outfitters doing this! Doesn't this raise a few red flags? I'm certain DIY nonres hunters are well aware of the fact that outfitters were the group that initiated the guide in wilderness laws...

    Wildlife task force, 90-10, etc.

Buzz, I call BS! Why the heck would outfitters be in favor of slitting their wrists allowing 90/10 for the Big 5? I know lots of Wyo residents that have drawn sheep, goat, moose, and bison tags and none of them have hired a guide! Pretty lousy reasoning! Buzz did you hire a guide on your...

    Wildlife task force, 90-10, etc.

Colorado to the south of Wyo offers nonres OTC elk every year they desire and 35% of limited tags for deer, antelope, and elk. That's way better than Wyo currently treats nonres! Colo's small town communities welcome the revenue nonres provide! Hopefully nonres that have invested up to 25...

    Wildlife task force, 90-10, etc.

Ask Wyo legislators how many negative comments they received the last few years from angry nonres hunters! The more nonres that are willing to comment the better chance we'll be able to save the few tags that are alloted! The more nonres that are willing to voice their opinion the better...
