Day 2 was uneventful. 7 miles hiked but at least I saw a fork horn

I also learned real quick what I do and DONT want to pack in with me. The piece that holds my spotter to the tripod also broke. So the spotter is staying in the truck the rest of the trip. My binocs seem to be doing fine where I’m at anyways.

Ended up eating at the saloon and steakhouse there. Food was great. Place was loaded with hunters and the owner was friendly. In case anyone reads this and will be in ten sleep. On a side note, my first ever hunt for mule deer I would consider a success. Hiked a mile and half in and saw 7 does...

Thats what I usually do with them. Appreciate the advice. Im definitely going to get some burger but was thinking about some brats or italian sausages too.

Assuming I'm successful on my mule deer hunt this fall, where would yall suggest taking a deer to be processed in region R? Ill keep the tenderloins seperate, but plan to get the whole animal processed. What do yall like to get made out of your mule deer?

I did cheat. Never made my own sloppy joe sauce before and didnt want to ruin this deer just in case.

Made some sloppy does tonight with some corn fed Ohio whitetail. One of my favorite ways to eat these things.
