Better charge that cell phone battery before power goes out! Be safe packmule, as a westerner that's some scary stuff right there
I'm the idiot that's about to drive to it and stay the weekend. Not to worried about power bc after the 05 hurricanes backup generators were installed with trailered diesel generators on standby. I foresee some fence repairs in my future and a short break for my kid's first birthday party.

Shot several in the 360-380lb range. Have trapped a cpl over 400. One I'm trying to trap, shoot, run over, etc should be a little over 300.

Just google Cliven Bundy. I have herd about him before. Fed's have put alot of good ranchers under with stuff like this. Its a bad deal and has been going on for a ling time all over the west. Good to see he is still fighting them!

Over 1 million dollars to round up 500 cows. Thats efficiency at its best. Spend $2000 to get a $1000 cow in...... And all over a tortoise that has probably been helped more then anything by his family ranching there since the late 1800's. Its pretty much the same deal as the wolves and spotted owl, another way to get ranchers (loggers in the case of the spotted owl) off of public land and Clinton declaring all those new national monuments as he was walking out of office added to it (no grazing is allowed on a national monument). There are alot of ranchers that have lost everything over loosing the grazing rights to the public land that went with their deeded land. It really bothers me when I see conservation group and center for biological diversity used in the same sentence. RMEF is a conservation group! The reason this is going down now is because of a CBD lawsuit. All these so called environmental groups have gotten way to much power in the last 20 years or so and they are misusing the endangered species act in an attempt to shut down the west and Cliven Bundy is a great example of that.

They can go after revenue for the 20yrs of noncompliance. Messing with the Feds is a bad game to go all in on.

They started trying to kick him out before he stopped paying. I can understand him not wanting to pay someone that is trying to shut him down. I also agree with him the land should be managed by the state and the state should get the lease money, which he wanted to pay to the state. Not that I think anyone can win challenging the federal gov to this extent, but I can see where the guy is coming from.

To me it boils down to ethics, respect for elders, and a mans word. I dont know how any of those participating cowboys will lay there head tonight. Hopefully someday bundys boys can return the favor of rounding up their cattle once there fathers are pushed off the land they claimed years and years ago.

States won't rock that boat with federally funded BLM.

It's hard for me to see where he's coming from but it's a different culture down here where cattle operations are pay to play. You don't range them on public, supplementing them is a deep out-of-pocket expense and for a cpl years during the drought hay was around $120/roll. People complain about guides charging trophies fees on public land to boost their income and reality is that's what ranchers are doing with their cattle on public land.
