My hunting buddy lives about 4 miles from it, it's about an hour drive for me from our city residence and about an hour from our place out in the sticks. Was on a lease just south of it along the river for several years.

It's loaded with them. We never could use dogs on our lease during teal season bc of them and usually found a cpl during the early MLD season in food plots. Lease gets 12 permits every year to thin them down, but there's just so dang many in the 8-10' range

We literally saw hundreds of them. So overpopulated that they were starving. I got a 10ft 2in that weighed 237. My 10 footers here will weigh 500 plus
Very few people actually hunt them here so they get overpopulated. They were left on the endangered species list too long.

I always thought gator was a sought after hunt. I would love to take one with the bow!
Deer and ducks are king in E-SE Tx. Most folks are too busy prepping for deer season or teal hunting the Sept season. Hear more being shot in the Apr season on the Trinity River & upper Neches. In Apr though its prime spawn and ppl are fishing instead of hunting.

Deer turkey and ducks rule here in that order. We don't have a gator season here so that's how I found your area. I thought it was thick here till I saw your country. Wow! If you like duck hunting you should come up and check out red slough wma in Oklahoma.

I don't do near as much as I used to, but try to get a few trips in a year. Now try to get in duck/geese combo trips. Starting to go to Chickasha and shoot birds along the river. Good mix of sprigs, mallards & greaters.

If you ever want to come to se ok hunting ducks just holler. I manage several wma's here that have loads of sprigs and greenheads in the late season. I made about 10 trips this year and limited out all but 1 of them. I know that east texas has a ton of duck habitat and can never understand why 75% of my hunters are from south of the red

I can only imagine how much more activity there is for gator hunting after all the shows that have come out of late

You need to send some sprigs my way ;)

I have only got a female pintail and I want a bull sprig bad to complete the mount. Problem is, only a couple pair come in during season, and stay for only a few hours to a day. And it's usually when I am in school.
