The back door is open and it looks like I got skunked again except for the unlimited tag.

Nada for me, too, for the 3rd year in a row. Oh well, Snake River rifle elk in Oregon will plenty to handle this year in addition to my OTC Idaho tags.

Fink - to check the 'back door' method to see if you drew, login on the IDFG website, click the License tab/select Purchast Licenses, Tags and Permits/online and then fill in your hunter info. Under the Tags tabs it will show you if you drew any controlled hunts or just have the availability of purchasing the standard OTC tags. Good luck on the draw.

My Idaho info looks like it always has. Says Controlled Hunt Application at the bottom and lists all the different tags above. Does this mean I didn't draw?

+1 on ivorytips' comment. I've seen a few comments on other hunting blogs that mention that the ID drawing results are possibly entered into the system over the course of a few days (as opposed to one massive update for everyone all at once), so there's still an outside chance that your hunter info has not been officially updated yet. I've never checked this 'back door' method in the past so I have no idea at what point this info can be considered final other than when they actually post the CH draw results on the IDFG website.

Gotcha. I really believe that all these states could have the results posted almost immediately after the draws are done. The computer age apparently hasn't caught on with the fish and wildlife depts. It really would be nice to know asap so a guy can plan on entering other state draws or whatever. Oh well!

I couldn't agree more. It's not that I care about them holding on to the money as much as I would love to have more time to plan.

Drew unit 18 archery bull hunt. Also put an antelope tag in my pocket. Results are on the main page now.

Mine says "Sorry, this license number was not drawn for a controlled hunt." Thought I used up my luck last year. lol

I don't know why I am so excited. The only thing I have to draw is the unlimited deer tag. If I don't get that, we have a problem. I already bought my OTC elk tag.
