Nothing for me either. I was hoping to at least draw some of my second or even third choices, but nothing. I did draw a turkey tag if that counts? Over the counter here I come!

I feel your pain, I was 100% guarantee (based upon Huntin Fool, Eastman's, and State Statistics) for a 4th season muley tag and no dice...looks like it'll be OTC archery elk to put meat in the freezer!

If you want to see what happens to a bunch of guys who haven't drawn a tag yet this year, check in on the thread "I Can't Stand It". We are all goin' crazy over there waiting for Nevada to post their results today.

Whats crazy is all the talk about people being frustrated and boycotting colorado. Thats a load of crap...hardest year yet for me to draw and I put in with some good amounts of points.

I can feel your pain. I put in numerous hours of research, found a great hunt, only to learn that one of the big magazines promoted the unit this year. With 21 points I appled and was not drawn for elk.

I drew a second season muley tag and I could not be more excited! I've had to change my thinking as time is not on my side anymore. I used five points to get a tag that I would never have put in for in the past. At least I will be deer hunting in the land of the giants. Now that I've burned my points, I will just put in for areas that I think I can draw with no points as first choice. I admire you guys who stick it out year after year but with tag reductions and point creep it has become a tough row to hoe. Now I just want to hunt every year.
Good luck in the Nevada draw that should be posted this afternoon!

Thats exactly what I mean. Thats a ton of Elk points and you still didnt draw. WOW!!! What always cracks me up too is the draw odds that are placed in some of the mags, they get your hopes up too much.

When I started applying you could draw the best elk tag in the state with 7 points. I was like...cool, I can draw that tag 4 or 5 times in my lifetime....NOT. Now I look at it as a once in a lifetime tag, and I will wait out until I draw the tag I really want. There are other states however you can turn around a pretty good tag every 5-7 years.

The deer tags are getting just as bad if not worse. The sheep tags are most difficult as well, Archery is about the way to go with them.

I've never saved points. I want to hunt every year.
Thats easier to do with elk than it is deer and other species. I blew my points on deer last year and decided to only apply for a unit close to my house hoping to draw every year. Before last year I hadn't deer hunted in Colorado since 2009. I'd like to hunt every year too. Put that unit as my first choice this year and didn't draw... Now I have a point and no deer license. Maybe I can only expect to hunt deer every other year... at least in the unit I'm interested in?
