Arrow Rest question?

I understand that this has been debated for a long time - I am upgrading my current fall away rest which is a type of first generation style with no arrow containment. I know the biscuit is good because nothing to fail on it (no moving parts) but also see a majority of guys with the QAD. I'm leaning towards the QAD but wanted to see if anyone has worn out a biscuit or had it freeze on them? I am planning a bow hunt for the Breaks in a couple of years and wanted some feed back from guys that are already using each in the back country.
Also any new products that I should consider - checked out the Firenock AeroRest looks like a combo of both but noise from the draw would be a concern.

Thanks Fellas!

I have max helical on my 2' Blazers and although this has been debated......I have data generated from myself that shows straight vanes go through the biscuit fine and dandy.....as soon as you put some twist on it.....I believe accuracy starts to suffer by an inch or two at 30 yards.

My whole family shoots QADs with felt strips on it. No issues.

I shoot a QAD with felt strips as well and haven't had any issues with it. I'v had this same rest for around 5 years now with 0 failures, so they are good products. I cant speak for the biscuit as I've never used one.

I have used a WB for a very long time on my bowfishing rig. Thousands of shots with a heavy fiberglass arrow. No problems of any kind. I coated the bottom bristles with superglue to support the weight, and have killed untold fish with that rig.

It has a new insert in it now and is being used with target arrows. I'm a pretty terrible archery shot, so no comment on the archery side of things.

I used the biscuit for a while and I noted 2 issues. One, already discussed, was when you starting putting a helical fletch on your arrows I believed it to give me an accuracy issue. Two, if I hunted in rain and then it froze the biscuit became noisy.

I now have a Ripcord Red and have for the past 4 years or so. I really like it and have had zero issues.

I have shot a WB, Rip cord and qad, all have done very well and never gave me a problem. Right now I have QAD's on both my Obsession and my Halon and don't see going to anything else.

Bought the QAD Ultrarest HDX - nice upgrade from what I had! Now time to run some arrows thru it, I'm impressed with it so far -

Shot the chrono yesterday - have my bow dialed back to 60lbs and still shooting 277fps

Same here, Ripcord Red. Upgraded from whisker biscuit couple of years ago. No regrets...Accuracy improve a little, very little though. Ripcord is quieter and after hundreds of shots, no issues.

I shot a WB for years. Never had any issues with it, always liked how well the arrow was contained, never liked how I couldnt really shoot tight groups 40 yards and beyond. Decided to try a QAD. My accuracy instantly tightened up from 40-50 yards, and I think that rest does equally as good of a job containing the arrow.

I really like my Trophy Taker FC Extreme rest. My last four bows have them. QAD is also a great choice.

Thanks for the replys guys, I really think that the arrow rest was one of the items on my bow that I didn't pay that much attention to. We're always concerned with speed, arrow weight, broadheads etc... it really is probably one of the most important pieces of equipment to understand. And for anyone not doing 3d in the off season I highly recommend its helped to stay focused on my equipment yr round.

I just recently switched from a WB to a QAD HDX also . I like it quite a bit more . Plus there not as hard on your fletchings as a whisker biscuit
