NV Bear Hunt 2015

Four killed as of Tuesday haha I'm pumped I'll do better do get all the action filmed. Half of last week either I had my finger over the land or I was to just hollering at a bear and not realizing the camera is pointed at the wrong tree. Can't wait to get out this weekend I gotta work in a few hours but can't sleep, just thinking about bear hunting!
Another bear down! Mike, Joe and myself hunted together and ran Mikes tag.The tag holder only had today to hunt his tag and we sealed the deal. All the dogs rigged hard and trailed out fast. Had him jumped in a few minutes and the race was on. After 20 minutes or so dogs were barking trees and we drove as close as we could before starting the 3/4 mile hike in. It was a steep 3/4 mile hike too. In total we had 5 kids with us and a bunch of adults. More people than dogs on this one. After a thorough inspection of the bear it was decided he was the one. Mikes shooter used a bow and made a perfect shot on this bear which dropped him and sealed the deal. Congrats to everyone involved today and lets get another one tomorrow boys.

Yes they do! Bears in NV that are even close to a road and hear two noises (door slam and dogs barking) are in fear of their life. Kinda like a movie, "Dead Bear Walking". You guys are becoming LEGENDS out there. HAHA.

Todays bear
Jason , Joe and I went at it again this morning and had a blast. The dogs rigged pretty good and lined it out quick. They ran him across the road and parrallel for over a mile when the race took towards the mt. After some other hunters passed us, we headed down the road to listen. They made a short loss but we were able to listen to them top out. Shortly after we got that signal we all hoped for. Dogs treed! We took a little drive around and parked for about 1/2 mile walk. Looking over the bear he decided he didn't want to stay and bailed. With dogs in hot pursuit he turned to fight for a second but quickly found refuge in another tree. He was passed on and left for another day. Dogs did great, again we had a good group of people. One of those celebrating his 11th birthday at a tree! Good pictures and video.

This next weekend is the weekend to fill our tag holders tag. I can feel that there's gonna be a big bear in a tree this weekend. 2 of my laid up dogs will be back in action and another of my buddies dogs will be ready out of her heat cycle. This is the weekend for a big bear!
