Is there a way to enter information into the system before the time so that I can just click purchase at 8am mountain?

Holy cow my antelope area sold out fast (55)... approximately 4 seconds in and all permits were gone. My wife got her cow tag but we didn't get our doe antelope permits. Guess we will make our breakfast sausage out of deer this year. How did everyone else do?

You can enter all your info and be waiting at the species page prior, at that point it's all skill....

I got my cow licenses, but they had about 400 to start with. When I checked a couple minutes ago they were down to 55. The website had a little glitch in it where it only let me buy one then I had to log out and log back in before it would let me purchase the second. Probably due to the traffic volume on the ELS this morning.

Do you just start "turbo clicking" on the greyed out button 10 seconds before 8 to try and be the first one through?
The system let me click my areas and choice but then wouldn't let me purchase as all tags were gone... there were only 11 tags left so I can't be too disappointed. My wife and I both have elk tags so the antelope was just going to be fun on the side- guess it will be coyotes now. Anyone buy the area 55 doe tags?

Function key works better to refresh. Mouse click requires 1/2 second to move from the refresh icon down to the species tab. With only 11 tags in a unit like Hilltops, you best be shaving tenths off your time....Do you just start "turbo clicking" on the greyed out button 10 seconds before 8 to try and be the first one through?

I told myself I didn't need the additional cow tag. With my caribou hunt and quality deer tag. And my general elk tag. But I couldn't resist.

It's not like elk meat is hard to give away if needed. I like to use the extra tag(s) as justification for hunting for a big bull since you have a cow tag to fall back on for meat purposes.

That's a great idea. I always wished growing up that was an option but they started the program right after I moved out of state. I know I would have been much more selective in my early years.It's not like elk meat is hard to give away if needed.

No matter what, I still run the philosophy "if it's brown it's down". One day I'll be proficient enough where I can justify letting an elk walk. But that time has not come.It's not like elk meat is hard to give away if needed.
I agree completely. I have always viewed elk for the amazing meat and not as much as a trophy. 9 years ago I made the decision to start the PP game and get a premium tag. I drew the tag this year so now I'm nervous I will "waste" the tag on a bull that I should let walk. I have looked at thousands of videos and pictures trying to burn the trophy bull image into my brain so I can justify the last 8 years without an elk hunt... In the end, I think I will make the most of the tag but I bet it will be hard letting a 300 class bull walk while I wait for a 350 type bull. I have already made the decision not to pursue this type of tag again as I have missed the general tag hunting a lot.
I'd have to disagree. I let numerous bulls walk the last two years. I ended up shooting small 6 pts towards the end of each season hoping to bag one of the big ones I was chasing during the archery season. As for amazing meat, I'd take a 1" slab of medium rare prime rib over the best elk steak anyone ever fixed on this site...

Tough to beat a well prepared prime though.
I can understand your point of view as well... each to their own. I have very close friends that lets animals walk all the time and I respect that. I think everyone hunts for different reasons and that is good. I truly enjoy hunting and spending time in the outdoors but I also view the fall as my yearly opportunity to fill my freezer with quality meat that I can't buy anywhere. I do "trophy" hunt as well and still get excited when the big one comes...but honestly I get excited when I take a doe deer with my bow.I'd have to disagree. Nothing on the list I'm interested in. I picked up a Cow tag today and left the Antelope for someone else. Hopefully you picked up a tag or two...
Hill, it's your tag, have fun, make memories, and kill what you're happy with. I shot a spike on a NM LO tag that cost $3000 and haven't regretted it or thought twice about it since the arrow left the string. Had 11 points for AZ last year and shot a 290 bull at 10 yards. Had a fantastic time.
