Had a good time with good friends in Wyoming this year. We made the journey back for opening day of Antelope season and enjoyed maybe our best speed goat hunt yet:

We spotted this guy the day before the season while scouting. He was one of the best goats we saw so we checked back on him opening morning and whaddya know he was on the same little ridge with his does. We tailed him for hours waiting for a mistake because his large group of does made it impossible to stalk close enough for an ethical shot. He left his harem for a few minutes to run off a challenger and we made good on the opportunity. Beautiful animal who took a lot of effort and patience.

We looked over dozens of other bucks over the next two days of hunting until this unique buck caught my eye:

An old battle worn warrior with beat up horns and a split ear. You could tell he had been in many struggles with other bucks fighting for superiority and the right to pass on his genes. He had likely been unseated by a more aggressive younger buck as we found him lurking outside a group of does being run by a smaller male. Little cheater points and a ton of character in this buck's horns.

Thank you again Wyoming for the hospitality and providing the opportunity/wide open spaces to pursue these beautiful animals.
