I just received my Wyo ORV permit/sticker. It took less than a week to get here (including a holiday). $15.00 and did it online. Don't forget to get the permit if you are using an off road Vehicle.

You can get them locally but why chance it that they might be out when you stop. A lot easier and more convenient to do it on line and be done with it.

Also for those of you that are planning a Colorado trip this year and bringing ATV's you need one from the CP&W to be legal.

Found that out the hard way one time. We had always bought them on site; when we got there that year we found that only two shops in town had them. One was closed (Sunday) the other ran out. SMH, we've bought them online ever since

If you are a Arizona resident you need the off road tags but a non resident doesn't.

When Arizona went to the ATV registration years ago I contacted the agency involved but no one could or would give me a answer. Since that time I have been checked a number of times while on my ATV and never a problem.

Thanks JimP Iknew that a few states don't require additional tags as long vehicle is tagged and registered in home state.Wasn't sure Az,was one.Have an old ATC 110.Had to ad a back brake light and horn to get a tag.Still get wierd looks when bieng checked. Probably qualifies for historical plate.

Actually, I meant outlaw rifing ORVs in the mountains. Places I have fly fished for 22 years for the solitude and relaxation are now overrun with noise, dust and pollution. Not 5 minutes goes by without somebody coming by raping mother nature with them now.

If they are illegally riding on public land that is closed and/or regulated to ORVs and you see them, why don't you take a picture of them and report them to USFS or BLM? Just bitching about it doesn't solve the problem or deal with the issue.

I always felt that bitching about something made me feel better about it. lol

PS: Thank you for the reminder. I ordered mine a minute ago.

I knew what you meant but thought that I would joke with you for a post or so.

But ATV are a part of the outdoors anymore and there isn't much you can do about it. If you see them breaking the law then by all means report them as CC mentioned. There are always going to be those that break the laws by driving where they are not suppose to drive or see how far they can go on a muddy road after they have gone around a gate locking it off.

Can you buy them somewhere locally or better to get online?
I'd get it ahead of time. I called the hotel we stayed at in 2016 before my hunt to make sure they had them before our trip and they assured me I could buy one there. When I arrived at the hotel they had caught a mistake, they had been sent 2017 permits not 2016 permits. They had stopped selling them and were waiting to hear back from fish and game. I ended up driving 90 miles one way to the county seat to get the proper permit and losing a half day of hunting. I learned from that and had been getting them in a big town like Casper on my way in, now I guess I'll start doing it online.

Only thing is don't put the sticker on to early if there is a chance you trade ATV's that year. I bought 2 one year after trading the one off due to a major break-down before the hunt.

I never said they were illegally riding, otherwise there would be no need to outlaw it. It has just gotten crazy out of control in the areas I have frequented IMO. There is only so much prestine wilderness and solitude out there. Of course, handicapped reasons are another story and I'm all for helpng folks enjoy the outdoors if they have a need. You are correct... bitching won't help a bit, but it is something I feel passionate about and I felt if it makes just a few people think about it, then it's a start. :-/
