Wyoming leftover problem

We went through the leftover attempt for 2 deer tags. We had them locked immediately. We entered all info and made it to the credit card info part, entered it and hit buy. It took us to the Wyoming home page with no confirmation. We checked with the credit card company and we were charged for the 2 licenses. When we look at purchased items, nothing shows up.

I've tried, but the number is constantly busy and of course the tag was sold out immediately, so now it is a waiting game to find out...

Site now say they are having problems with credit card processor, not good for people purchasing online because I would bet the tags are already sold at the on site locations that are physically in Wyoming. My guess is anyone who purchased online today will get hosed. They won't issue extra tags and what few leftovers there were will be spoken for by those who purchased at agents in Wyoming.

We reached the Laramie office by phone and they said the processor is messed up and they are shutting the site down (I'm not sure if this is accurate) until it is fixed. She took our info and supposedly, Cheyenne will call us back today and let us know one way or another. I will be pretty unhappy if we don't get our tags since we were on and locked them in within the first 2 seconds and we were charged for them, but you never know.

Site is back up....

I was able to get through on the phone, talked to a nice guy who said the whole thing is messed up and they are going to have to go into the system and look up who logged in by sportsmans ID at what time and decide who gets licenses...he did not have an eta for a call back and did not know how long the process would take. They are well aware of the problem and are looking into it.

Sounds like a boondoggle to me.....

Wow. What stinks is if somebody was not sure if they would get their tag or not, while they (or me in this instance) is waiting to find out, the remaining tags (which is not much now) are continuing to be sold. For instance, my brother and I were after unit 79-1 deer tags. There were 54 available. I logged in within a couple seconds of it opening, and bought two as a group (brother and I each bought one). We were charged. Now we wait to be contacted by Cheyenne. Our unit 79-1 tags were gone within moments. Region F had tags that we might have bought, but while we were waiting, it sold out too. Now, there is nothing I'm interested in. Oh well...I guess it is just a waiting game now.

I got all set up and ready to buy my leftovers prior to 10AM (ET). At 10AM I got right on, selected my tags, and checked out with no issues at all. I did check back at 10:15 to see what sold out and to my surprise there was not much left. Specifically the few LE units available for deer. They were gone fast.

I logged on and did everything right and when I went to check there was no confirmation page. Red flag. So I kept calling and I finally got through to a human. She said to sign on like I was about to buy a tag and click at the bottom and see previously purchased items and it says I didn't purchase anything. So I went ahead and bought my tag again. This time it let me get a receipt and conservation stamp. Hopefully I didn't get charged twice. Lucky I was putting in for a antelope tag that is not going to sell out. I set up land owner permission with a large ranch by Gillette. I'm finally going antelope hunting. Good Luck everybody on getting this crap figured out.

Shootist sent me a PM and I told him to do what the lady told you and when he did it didn't show that he purchased anything. I'm hoping they can trace things back to see what he purchased and with his CC hit that they'll issue him his tags. This really sucks, as WY usually runs smooth and now this is the second big problem with the first being last month when they issued 1200 too many bull elk tags for unit 7 to residents and had to get that straightened out. I'm hoping along with WB that things run smoothly on 7/17when I try for some doe antelope tags that are in very short supply for my unit.

Yep, sounds like you have it made! I hope they figure out some way to make it right with people that paid and got kicked back to the main page without getting recorded other than on their CC account, but I question whether they can go back and do it. It may depend on how many were affected and if a person wants to pursue it if G&F is agreeable to look at each situation individually. it;s really a shame thye've had two major snafus this year because their record was perfect until this year.
