It's a long shot but is anyone planning to use 6+ points for a general elk tag next year? I am interested in partying with someone for the draw. I have 1 point and likely won't be able to draw. 3.5+ points should draw. I am not looking for a hunting partner as I have a group of Wyoming residents that I hunt with regularly. I would however be willing to offer assistance/advice to someone willing or other help if needed.

This right here is why there have been HB proposals to do away with point sharing in Wyoming. I understand why and what your trying to do, but I'd personally make the offer in a PM instead of publicly.

Yep. I could create half a dozen accounts, buy points annually, and pay for my hunt every year.

Pretty hard to PM when I have no idea who would have any interest. Sorry if it offends anyone- I'm not breaking the rules just trying to use them to my advantage. The reality is I don't want to wait 3-4 years between elk hunts. Even in the special draw it took 2 points last year so I have little chance to hunt elk next season on a general tag if I don't think outside the box.

Your right, no rules broken today. Just giving the people that what to ban point sharing in the state another post to take a screen shot of to display as evidence that people actually make money off applying with complete strangers for point sharing.
Lots of creative ways to have posted this without flat out offering cash for someones points, just have to think outside the box.

All a guy can do is play within the rules that the state applies.. I burned my points last year, going into the general draw in the random pool myself in 2020.

Point taken. I honestly didn't view it that way- paying for a persons entry is basically the same as offering cash. I'll edit my post.

Every 1st choice app with more than 1.0000 point drew and 17% of the 1.0 point guys drew special gen last year.

You want to hunt elk every year in WY apply for a cow tag problem solved. You can also become a resident and you can hunt elk every year on a general.
Applying for a cow tag does not guarantee hunting elk every year in most areas. In the past it did but no longer. However the odds of acquiring one is better than a general tag.

Yes, I agree certain areas no guarantee for a cow tag but there are always left over in other areas. It may not be the specific area a hunter wants to hunt but they still can definitely hunt other areas where it's almost a sure thing.

This is true. Access and success rates may not be desirable but at least you’re in the field

I am very aware of the past exact draw odds and percentages and the fact that to guarantee general tags every year a person needs to move to Wyoming. I know I can hunt cow elk every year. I can't move to Wyoming yet and would like to improve my odds above the 17% for next season specifically. Call it special circumstances but next year would be important, that's my reasoning for posting the above message. I realize it's a long shot but couldn't hurt to try.
