Hello, I have 11 years banked and looking at burning it on 38 type 9 tag or 45 type 1 and hunting last 2 weeks of September with archery stamp. I am a experienced archery elk hunter, but asking advice from anyone who has hunted or scouted these units. Pretty much a once in a lifetime hunt so advice is appreciated Looking for 300 plus bull and bugling with opportunity. Thanks, in advance. Good luck on upcoming draws!

FYI- You may not draw the tag unless you go in for a special tag.
That is my only advice I can offer unfortunately.
I hope you draw the tag because 5 years ago it was my dream to hunt one of those tags and it will never happen for me from the looks of things.

Go 45, if you can draw it. I haven’t been in 38, but have spent a lot of time in 45. Lots of rut activity, lots of success on bulls in the bow season.

I would do 45-1 lots of elk big bulls... 45-1 would allow U to come back with a rifle if needed.......
