I guess it depends on what kind of hunt you want. Wilderness and horses? or 4 wheel drive and lodge type...Plenty of good outfitters in the top units. Even with max your not guaranteed to draw some of the best tags in the state. What research have you done on units you have thought about hunting? Kinda hard to list every top draw outfitter in the state.

Those outfitters are most likely hunting General tag units, that can be 100% drawn with a point or two if you go special draw etc....The majority of horseback outfitters operate in wilderness areas which in general are for the most part general tags. . If i was a non-res sitting on MAX points, I would lean towards somewhere more limited. All the guiding I did was in a general unit in the wilderness and we took bulls up to 390 and multiple over 350 a year, that being said, it isnt easy hunting and we had one of the better areas left for elk density. . I would focus your attention on some other areas that are hard to draw and will provide a more "limited" opportunity. The General hunts, even in the wilderness, get hammered by outfitters and DIY hunters. It is like a zoo in there the opening week of rifle. . My old boss counted 15+hunters one opening day 15 miles into the wilderness...its not exactly like you escape people in there anymore. . You should check out Bob Sundeen and Trails West Outfitters units 62/63 i believe...he is well known and respected and its a backcountry horseback hunt and Ive only heard good things about his outfit. You could also check out the Late season limited draw hunts up around cody. The best units up there are still not a guarantee to draw with Max points I believe...but if you did draw and with the right outfitter...a Monster can be found quite readily if the weather is helpful as well.

Bob's unit is 61. and this year it was 8 points to draw, you used to be able to draw that area with 3-4 points. And he does provide a great camp, and the hunting is as good as it gets..

I had two back operations
I am fused L4-S1
I have been looking at Rough Country Outfitters
Unit 7
Now I now the unit isn't what it once was, but having gone
on pack in hunts in the Gila and Targee I know those days are
Over for me.
Now hunting via 4x4 isn't how I wanted to kill my last bull
Sometimes you got to know your limits.

That's a good recommendation, I would think Unit 7 would be far easier physically than in the NW corner. Also check out Wagonhound in Unit 7.

I wouldn't say area 7 isn't what it once was. I saw a lot of nice elk up there right from the road. (Since I didn't have a tag). I reluctantly recommend wagon hound as well. I'm just jealous of all the land he owns lol

My dad went with Bighorn outfitters last year in zone 45. Saw 8 legal bulls opening day, tagged a 5x6 opening day. Horseback hunt there but they do have other ranches with good bulls. they have a nice ranch hunt in 34, might be 35. Doesn't take max points but they kill some bruisers on it. Would be an easy hunt on your back
