Wyoming Area 45 Elk

I have 9 PP and have applied for an area 45 Type 9 elk tag. If anyone has hunted this area or can help with any information it would really be appreciated. Thanks

Good luck, I had the tag last year. Fun hunt. I did type 1, but went in on the archery permit and had a blast.

I also put in with 8 preference points for the type 9. I plan on getting over there and doing some scouting, as I am only about 4 hours away. That is if I draw. Good luck to you in the draw.

Yikes. I also put in with 8 pts for the Type 9. I talked to the Outfitter that hunts there and he had a good list of people interested in 45 also. Not sure how many of them put in but the odds may be getting worse as it typically does in all PP systems. Guess we'll find out in a few weeks. Will have to check back after the draw.

Just out of curiosity, what'd everyone put in for? I did the Regular app. in the Type 9 hunt. Last year there were 11 Regular tags and 8 Special tags for the Type 9 hunt and 25 R's and 18 S's in the Type 1 hunt. The outfitter had maybe 3 or 4 with 9 pts. and a similar amount with 8 pts. so I'm not as optimistic that I'll draw just based on the info I've seen so far but time will tell. Even if I dont' draw, I plan to do some more scouting this year to learn the areas better! Good luck to all!

Congrats Car! I can't find my name via the auditors page but since I didn't apply for the point, I assume I will only show up if I get a full refund. I'll prolly just have to wait till Friday morning via the G&F site.

From the odds report, looks like nobody put in for the Type 9 with max points and a few put in for the Type 1 with max. in the Regular draw. Also no max point people in the Special Draw for either Type 1 or 9. Looking forward to September in WY this year!
