New to Forum,
I drew 45 type 9 too!!!
Super Excited. Would like to DIY hunt, but may opt for guided wilderness action. Researching all options.

I ended up putting in for area 40 and drew a type 9 tag. I had 9 points but put in with a friend of mine that only had 3. Knew I couldn't draw 45.

My friend has never been elk hunting before and really wanted to go. As I get older I am happy to just be in the mountains with friends. Killing something is just an added bonus. I'm sure we will have a great hunt. Been gathering information on unit 40 and plan to be there somewhere around September 10-20. I archery hunted for elk for the first time 3 years ago and am hooked!! Had always gone rifle but there is nothing like hunting elk in the rut.
