WY Region Y or R?

I have hunted Y a few times, with good success. This year I'm contemplating putting in for R, I have only spent a few hours driving the roads and a quick hiking trip in the Northern half.
So if I go into R it will basically be a blind trip, versus Y I know pretty well and honestly I have only scratched the surface in Y.

So, given the choice for those that have hunted these units which would you choose? Something about exploring a completely new area is appealing to me and on the other hand the confidence I have in my knowledge of Y is a huge advantage.

*Note, I backpack in so I'm looking to areas that are foot travel only.

If I do chose R, I will likely focus my efforts to the lower elevation. Just my thinking at this point.
Vice versus for Y, I might focus my efforts to the higher elevations.

I fell ya man. Kids are getting older and consequently getting into more and more activities.
