I almost wish they allowed for hunters to take out "management bucks" but this would probably lead to other problems vs. hunters correctly taking out management style bucks...

Yep...ppl tend to want the biggest buck possible and will slap the term mgmt on it as justification to shoot something that doesn't need to be shot.

See that pretty regularly here on 8pts. Folks will shoot 125-140" 8pts and call it a mgmt deer at 3-4yo when their top end genetics of 6-7yos are only 150-160.

Fat and healthy looking. Stupid, as I could of hit him with a rock on several occasions. Reading up on EHD it effects deer species different. Either way it attacks the testicles. They have been doing a study to see if these deer ever regain the chance breed. These mule deer are not dying of it, but this is a result. Must have been 4 deer that I saw in velvet on that hunt.

For me it would depend on the quality of the tag in my pocket and at what stage of my hunt I'm in. If it were towards the end of my hunt on a general unit in an area with little "good buck" potential he would probably be in big trouble.......Oh and I do like those freaky bucks!!!!

For me anything I would shoot on the last day of the season I will shoot on the first. If it's a legal animal and I have a tag and it gives me a shot into the freezer it will go. The antlers only end up in the garden as decoration or I give them to the kids to play with anyhow so antler size or configuration is of no concern to me.

I would pass. He isn't very white in the face, So I assume he is pretty young. I would rather let him go and see how funky he gets next year.

Everyday. 150 4x4's are a little more common than him. 1 year old or 10, he is getting a full serving of lead. I love management bucks

I'd shoot him unless I had waited ages on a trophy unit.
My father-in-law took a stag that had over 60 points (all barely ring hangers).
Not many chances for a conversation piece like that....... and they do eat better missing the jewels. (so I hear)
