I'm usually not a Lucky person. My dates are 31st October thru November 6th. Still can't believe I was the winner.
I have to apply for a tag and hopefully I draw.

Congrats, where did you win it at?

I have a couple words of caution. Years ago I won such a hunt and when I started to research it I found out that there were a lot of other hunters that also won it. I also found out that it was a scam ran by the outfitter where the free hunt would cost me triple what a normal outfitted hunt would of cost.

The archery shop owner Hunts with the guy often. They are very good friends. He says the outfitter only allows some many deer taken on his leases. Should be a good hunt.

Never hunted Kansas. Is there a chance you wouldn't get a tag for a white tail? Seems like here in WI anyone can show up and buy a tag cause deer are everywhere. I never heard of a NR not getting a tag for a deer, just why I ask.

What part of the state? Depending on the weather that's a really good time to be in the woods. Definitely pre-rut and should be lots of bucks cruising around. I usually kill my deer the first 10 days of November when I bow hunt.

What happens if you don't draw a whitetail tag? Can you defer until you do or is the hunt only for 2019? Pretty cool prize I must say, hopefully you draw and have a great hunt.

Some areas are usually 100% with a few leftover tags. Some areas are oversubscribed.

Good luck in the draw and hopefully the hunt!

I was told the dates were the 31st of October thru November 6th not by the outfitter. The outfitter called and gone m the units to apply in and make sure I applied before the draw deadline the 26th. He informed me my hunt dates are 22-27 November. He also told me he's been in business for 27yrs and never over hunts his leases. This i'll be a fun hunt.

Here the link to his website.

Thats a pretty late bow hunt. It'll be just before rifle this year. Last year I saw some very late rut activity around that time, but food sources will probably be key for you during that time. Should be fun if you can draw! Good luck

From my research into hunting KS (family there), the later dates produce the biggest bucks.

Have a great time.
