Will Colorado ever do this?

Lot of units for the archery and rifle seasons allow you to hunt multiple units.

Do you guys think that they will ever split these apart and make them unit specific tags? Or do you think that will be too much for the CPW to micromanage?

I hunt a unit that is combined with another unit and I have never even stepped foot in the other unit. So why include it on my tag?

They did this when the deer population started to improve after they went to a total draw for deer. It is nice that you can do this if you hunt in a area that is bordered by another unit that you put in for. If you look you will see that there still are a number of units that you can only hunt the single unit due to CP&W management strategies for that unit.

There may come a time when they may remove or add to a deer hunting area in the future depending on the herds health and population.

I was just wondering if they looked at that in a way to be able to spread out the hunting pressure or not. Ultimately, it would likely make one of the units jump significantly in point creep, but it may make the other unit actually achievable to draw since it may or may not be undesirable for one reason or another.

They are trying to manage the deer by herds and their habitat. If these cover several units, then could hunt several units. Colorado sets up their hunting unit structure for antelope, deer & elk. Sometimes the animals in management herds move in several units.
