I took Mrs. BOHNTR (Anne) on her first whitetail hunt in Kansas this past week. We stayed with some gracious friends and hunted some really neat ground (both private and public). Anne was able to arrow her 4x6 buck at 35 yards while on the ground after I grunted him in for her. He was heart shot and only made it 10 yards. She was pumped with her first whitetail.....I'm afraid she's hooked now. 
After she had one down, I hunted for a few days, but most of the big bucks had does pinned down. On my last day, I stalked in on a giant 10 point (155" class) in the wide open prairie only to have the doe bust out at my feet in the tall weeds/grass they were in. However, this 8-point was also bedded nearby, and when he stood to see what was going on, I let him have it. He only made it 30 yards before expiring.
We had a great time in Kansas and will enjoy some fine table fare. Hope you enjoy.
