I'm all for the mentoring programs that states have but this one is stretching it a little bit too far.

3 years old is just a little too young. I started shooting a single shot 20 ga shotgun when I was about 7.

CC my dad took me out and let me shoot a single shot 22 when I was 6 under his strict supervision.

I was shooting a 22 when I was 4 or 5, I remember shooting it at least when I was 5.

I shot my first big game rifle right after my uncle gave it to me on my 5th birthday. It was so eventful that I remember sitting on my dads lap with the rifles barrel out the window, but not much after that. I guess that a 5 year old shouldn't shoot a 30-06.

I shot my .22 when I was 5. Just using the shotgun example.

It's just that parents let their kids do stupid things even when they are suppose to be in control.

But this is a good reason for hunters education that I thought that every state requires. Perhaps not, but still 3 years old is way too young.
