All the years I’ve been on this forum, I’ve actually never looked at this section. I must say I’m pretty impressed with your guys dedication! You guys stay pretty active and dedicated. Gives me some motivation. Didn’t have much time for working out the last couple years while building my house, but now that we’re settled in I’m starting to get back at it. I usually cut and split wood all winter which keeps me active and usually do weighted backpack hikes, but I don’t run...I absolutely hate running. I was boxing since I was 10, so I think all the miles I put in through high school burned me out. Getting back into hitting the bags and teaching my boys how to box. But no more ring for me...getting hit in the face now sucks! Keep up the good work fellas!

Welcome Muley; Cutting and hand-splitting wood for my primary source of heat for 38 years was a big part of my exercise routine. I practiced and taught martial arts for many years, and that was similar to your boxing as far as exercise and fitness benefits. I no longer run, but a couple months before a hunting trip work through a fairly rigorous pack training routine. Keep at it. When you stop, you drop.

Ironically I just split a little wood today and then finished off with a quick back and shoulder workout. I figured I was already warmed up LOL. I then went for a 5.5 mile run so I too can indulge in all the great foods tomorrow.

My only real exercise yesterday was shoveling snow. I plowed for several hours after the first real snowfall of the year (8"). The truck plow works great on the driveway, but the decks and walkways get done the old fashioned way. I was wondering why I was so sore this morning.
