This week was tough to get in workouts with everything else going on. We are weaning calves now so I'm getting lots of riding horseback in, great for my core and calf muscles. I doubled up yesterday on workouts, a T25 lower focus and then 3 miles with an 80lb pack. My legs are a little sore today. I think I'll get another hike in tomorrow and T25 cardio in Sunday.
This time of year I focus almost exclusively on the T25 cardio and lower focus workouts. They seem to help the most out of them all and by switching between them and hikes with the pack I think it builds my endurance and cardio together. After my muley hunt in October I'll start hitting all the videos again and back off some on the hikes. I have been hiking an area that I'll be wanting to stay out of as the whitetail rut approaches, keep from bothering deer and scaring them off the ranch.
I always struggle to find time to get in the hikes and workouts more as fall rolls in, right when I need to be hitting it hardest. The ranch work gets busier and so does the rest of life during spring and fall. When time can't be found it has to be made!
